Good Friday Morning!
We are up bright and early again this morning. We woke up around 3:51am.
It is raining like crazy. Rained pretty hard most of the night. I guess there is a typhoon coming this direction. I believe we are inland far enough that it should not affect us to much.
I think we are going to have dinner with a host family tonight. Should be very interesting. It will be at their house, I assume it will be authentic Korea food. Looking forward to that. We really haven't eaten too much since we have been here. Yesterday we were too nervous to eat. After we met Grace we went to a little sandwich shop that really supports Holt. There are pictures of families with little notes on them on the walls of the very little restaurant. (picture on left) After we ate the sandwiches we came back and took a nap. Slept for a good 4 hours. When we woke up it was raining. By the time we left to get some dinner it was very late, we have to be back here by 10pm or we are locked out. So we grabbed a pizza and headed back. The pizza had everything on it. Nothing bad just different. It was pretty good.
We are going to have lunch at a Korean restaurant today that the social worker recomended. Should be good. Hopefully it will quit raining so we can do some shopping this afternoon....probably will ride the subway to the market tomorrow. Need to get some souveniors.
We will see Grace again in a few hours for her Dr. appointment. We are very excited to see her again. We have watched the video at least 10 times. The pictures we took do her no justice. Her face is so expressive. She wasn't very happy with us. She was ok for a few minutes then she would cry. She is so cute when she starts to cry. The sound of her foster moms voice really soothed her. We brought a mini tape recorder with us. We taped the whole first meeting. Then we sent it home with the foster mom to sing and talk into it. We thought it would be helpful at least for a little while when Grace is scared she can hear a familiar voice. They call her "Seong Euna" very high pitched, sing song kind of. They also call the children, "my little puppy" in Korean. I wrote it down. Not sure how to say it yet. It is spelled like this "gangachi" We will take more pictures today.
Talk to everyone soon!
Thanks again for all of the emails!
