We just got back from our visit with the host family. They made a fabulous Korean dinner for us. They have 2 girls (3yrs and 7yrs). We had a great time. They volunteer to be a host family. Neither of them have any ties to Holt International or adoption at all, they just do it out of kindness and to represent their country. We started at a hotel with a group of people that have adopted children, I think they were on a "Heritage" trip. Krista and I didn't really know what to expect at first. We got matched with Mr. J.S. Hyun, he works for Samsung-Healthcare Dept. as the Chief Sales and Marketing Manager. He has travelled all over the world and went to college in Santa Barbara, CA. He was a very nice man.
We talked the whole way to his flat, it was about a 30 minute cab ride. He spoke very good English. When we arrived at his house we met his wife, Kim. She has her Masters Degree in American History. They live in a 3 bedroom flat in a suburb or satellite town of Seoul. I think Bundang-Gu.
The girls were very cute. A little shy. But by the end of the evening we wore them down enough to smile for a picture. Dinner was delicious. We had bulgogi (bar-b-que beef), sticky rice, potato noodles and vegetables, salad with crab, turnip wraps with vinegar, stuffed tofu dumplings and soup. Everything was very good.
They were such a nice couple. They gave us many gifts before we left....which was very unexpected.
Well we better get off the computer.....we are finally tired before 10:00pm.....I hope this doesn't mean that we are going to be up before 4:00am. (The bar is hopping again below our bedroom)

Oh My!!! Grace is absolutely beautiful! This is the first time I have been able to log on since you left for Korea. I cried. I don't know who is luckier...the two of you or her! It sounds like you are having a wonderful experience (minus the shower, rain, and sleepless nights) which will be great for you to tell Grace about one day. Scott and I can't wait to meet her. And Morgan just says, "See Baby Grace now, Mommy!" 2 year olds know nothing about patience. Please give hugs and kisses to Grace from us and we continue to pray for your safe return home. Love to all, Scott, Shannon, and Morgan
