A Funny Story:

Grace has been reading Stone Soup at school and they as a class are going to make their own stone soup. They asked every child what they wanted to bring in for the soup. Every child is bringing in some kind of vegetable.....except Grace! So what do you think Grace asked to bring in???? STONES! So next to Grace's name it says to bring in 3 large stones. I email her teacher thinking that this has to be wrong. Grace requested to bring in stones I just couldn't believe it! I then had to ask the teacher several questions about these stones. The teacher then told me I could find these stones anywhere.....the driveway (no we don't have a stone driveway), the backyard (no we don't have stones in our backyard) or we could buy them. So I am imagining going to Lowe's and telling them I need 3 large stones for stone soup!

Next time I want Grace to be in charge of bringing in a can of green beans.

Happy Halloween!!

Wow what a great weekend it has been. Halloween was very fun this year. Grace was in full force running up to each door for a piece of candy! Who would of guessed that candy was motivation for her.....haha!! Grace dressed up like a witch and Connor was a cowboy. I really wanted Connor to be a cow but he insisted on a cowboy. Grace was supposed to be tinkerbell but she insisted on the witch costume. Oh well....maybe next year I can choose their costumes...haha! We carved our pumpkin yesterday and I asked the kids what they thought would be inside the pumpkin and Connor said that there was a rabbit inside the pumpkin....boy was he disappointed when John pulled out a handful of seeds!

Grace is now reading 2 and 3 letter words. Her school sent home a book for her to read to us. We were very impressed. It was called Mac and Tab. She is also into telling us about bones, chlorophyll in leaves and leaf names. She asked me this week what the name of a leaf was and I told her it was a maple leaf. She then went on to tell me that that was wrong because the leaf she had in her hand was much to small to be a maple leaf.

Connor is enjoying school. He loves to sing his ABC's, say the pledge, and sing the school prayer. We are working on letter recognition. He knows his colors and several shapes.
Thank you for checking in on us. I will try and do a better job at updating the blog but Grace and Connor are keeping me very busy!
